SolutionsDevelopers Hosts Technology Leadership Roundtable
David Bankston, CTO of INgage Networks, Discusses Social Networking and the Government
Reston, Virginia – January 19, 2010 – Today, the SolutionsDevelopers Corporation announced the January meeting of its Technology Leadership Roundtable. SolutionsDevelopers welcomed David Bankston, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of INgage Networks (previously Neighborhood America), as the speaker for its January meeting.
This month’s session covered the key benefits of online communities and their applicability to federal projects. Mr. Bankston’s presentation focused on how the principles of open online communities can be applied to both secure and private projects. This includes collaboration on open source projects, government-citizen feedback (such as Recovery.gov), and even communications and networking in the wake of natural disasters, such as the 2004 tsunami and the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti. Current examples of related U.S. federal initiatives include the GSA Better Buy program and emergency response activities of the Department of Homeland Security (under SAFECOM).
“David’s presentation gave great insight into the concept of social production, and defining how we can measure the outcome of successful online communities,” stated Andy Spurgeon, Vice President of Business Development at SolutionsDevelopers. “David identified the importance of data mining, reporting, and connecting contributions to key individuals in group participation, as the key factors needed to measure and evaluate the success of social networking activities and collaboration initiatives.”
In 2010, Neighborhood America became INgage Networks. The change in name is designed to better reflect the company’s mission of forward-thinking and accessible social media technology. INgage Networks uses online community software, collaboration systems, Gov 2.0, and mobile marketing solutions to help its customers engage audiences, facilitate dialogue around brands, and gain continued business intelligence from consumers.
The Technology Leadership Roundtable hosted by SolutionsDevelopers provides a monthly forum for technology leaders and high-impact guest speakers to discuss trends driving information technology decisions and adoption issues for commercial and federal markets. Each event is moderated by SolutionsDevelopers’ John Gilroy, “The Computer Guy”, a well-known local radio personality and speaker.
